About NTA The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been set up as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustaining testing organization for conducting entrance examinations for admission/fellowships in higher educational institutions.

Purpose
To conduct efficient, transparent and international standards examination to assess the eligibility of candidates for admission and recruitment purposes.
To conduct research on educational, professional and testing systems to identify gaps in knowledge systems and take steps to bridge them.
To identify experts and institutions in setting exam questions.
To produce and disseminate information and research on education and professional development standards.
Work
To identify partner institutions with adequate infrastructure from existing schools and higher education institutions that would facilitate conducting online examinations without adversely affecting their academic routine.
Creating question banks for all subjects using modern techniques
Establishing a strong R&D culture as well as a pool of experts in various aspects of testing
To help individual colleges and universities in the field of testing and to provide training and advisory services to institutions in India. To provide quality testing services to educational institutions in India.
To develop a state-of-the-art culture of testing in India using domestic and international expertise. To collaborate with international organisations such as ETS to achieve this.
To take any other examination assigned by the Ministries/Departments/State Governments of the Government of India.

Team NTA
NTA will have a team of education administrators, experts, researchers and assessment developers who believe that scientifically designed and properly delivered assessments can improve the teaching learning process in Indian classrooms. The students coming out of these processes will contribute a lot to the betterment of our country. These assessments will also improve equity and ensure that merit rather than means prevails in the selection.
The success of all the functions of NTA will be evaluated on the basis of being able to achieve the above objective.
NTA will lay emphasis on updating its practices by continuous innovation in evaluation. The organization will place greater emphasis on research in assessment and use that research to update its assessment practices.

NTA has six operational areas related to various examinations. Each vertical will employ approximately 6 researchers including internationally known experts in psychometrics and statistics.
The group of researchers will be responsible for the following-

The group of psychiatrists and statisticians will be responsible for-

Fairness of examination by ensuring that no group of students is either benefited or disadvantaged because of the medium of examination or the content of questions
Comparing multiple tests to be done over the course of a year so that these tests are comparable
NTA will set professional standards for assessment, research on education and professional development in the country.
As India is a highly diverse country, NTA works effectively with various State Governments, Universities, State Education Boards, UGC, AIU, NCTE, NCERT, CBSE, CISCE, NIOS etc. to understand the capabilities of the students and the requirements of the higher education institution. will contact.

NTA will create a pool of highly professional subject experts, who will be trained by psychiatrists and statisticians. These subject matter experts will write the items for NTA and NTA will prepare the test using software/artificial intelligence.
