NEW DELHI: 8,627 candidates have been allotted seats in the round 1 Delhi University spot admission for undergraduate courses. University of Delhi announced the DU UG spot allotment result 2023 at 5 PM today on the CSAS portal, admission.uod.ac.in.
Candidates who have been allotted seats in round 1 spot admission will have to accept the allotment by September 3 up to 4.59 pm. However, some students claim that the DU spot admission allotment link is not active.
“It will be mandatory for the candidate to take admission to the seat allocated in the spot admission round 1. Failure to accept the allocated seat in the spot admission round 1 will forfeit the candidate’s eligibility for admission to UoD,” Delhi University informed candidates.
Students will not get an option to upgrade and withdraw during the spot admission process. The allocated seats will be considered final.
A total of 38,458 candidates applied for DU UG spot admission 2023. Of which only 8,627 were allocated seats.

CUET counseling process is conducted separately by the participating universities which include Central Universities of India. Delhi University has started the registration for DU UG Admission 2023. Interested candidates can register for DU UG Admission 2023 through CSAS portal. To apply for the counseling process, candidates need to enter their CUET Application Number and DOB. CUET Result 2023 tentatively in September 4th week of June 2023.
CUET 2023 is being conducted from May 21 to 31 and June 1 to 17, 2023. Through CUET counseling candidates are allotted seats in their respective courses and universities/institutes. All the eligible candidates who want to secure admission in any of the participating university must fill the application form from the official website of the concerned university.

CUET Counselling Procedure 2023
All the candidates appearing in the CUET 2023 entrance exam need to register on the website of the concerned university. Each university releases its rank list for the shortlisted candidates. As per the counseling schedule set by each university, the candidates participated in the counseling. Candidates who score above the cut-off will be called for counselling.
Through online counselling, the candidates filled the preferences of the college and course. Candidates with higher rank will be given preference over lower rank holder. The seats will be allotted based on the availability of seats and the rank of the candidate. Candidates accepted the seat and deposited the admission fee after seat allotment.

Delhi University CUET 2024 History
The University of Delhi was established in 1922 by an Act of the also Central Legislative Assembly of British India as a unitary, tutoring and domestic university. Hari Singh Gaur served as the first Vice-Chancellor of the university from 1922 to 1926. Only four sodalities was in Delhi at that time St. Stephen’s College, established in 1881, Hindu College, established in 1899, Zakir Hussain Delhi College( also known as Delhi College), established in 1792 and Ramjas College, established in 1917. Which after came combined with the university. The university originally had two faculties( trades and Science) and roughly 750 scholars.
The seat of power in British India was shifted from Calcutta to Delhi in 1911. The Viceregal Lodge estate came the hearthstone of the Viceroy of India until October 1933, when it was given to the University of Delhi. Since also, it has housed the Vice-Chancellor’s office and other services. When Sir Maurice Gwyer came to India in 1937 to serve as the Chief Justice of British India, he came the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delhi. During his time, postgraduate tutoring courses were started and laboratories were established in the university. Gwyer has been called” the maker of the university”. He served as Vice-Chancellor till 1950.
The tableware festival time of the university coincided with India’s independence in 1947, and the public flag was hoisted on the main structure for the first time by Vijayendra Kasturi Ranga Varadaraja Rao. There was no convocation due to the partition of India that time. rather, a special form was held in 1948, which was attended by Jawaharlal Nehru, the also Prime Minister of India, as well as Lord Mountbatten, Lady Mountbatten, Abul Kalam Azad, Zakir Hussain and Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar. Twenty- five times latterly, at the Golden Jubilee fests in 1973, the also Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi, Satyajit Ray, Amrita Pritam and M.S. Subbulakshmi shared.

Delhi University UG Admission Process
Delhi University offers admission to various course in Science, Arts and Commerce stream. Till 2021, students were shortlisted through entrance test and merit-based lists. However, from the academic year 2024, UG admissions in Delhi University will be conducted on the basis of CUET.
