Table of Contents
Central University of South Bihar, Gaya, India, is one among 54 such universities of Federal Government, which come under the purview of the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education of Government of India. The Central Universities (Amendment) Act, 2014 changed its name from Central University of Bihar (CUB) to Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) after it was founded under Section 25 of the Central Universities Act, 2009 (Section 25 of 2009).
In 2009, the academic programme of the university began operation in a rented facility on the grounds of Birla Institute of Technology, Patna (BIT). The administration, teachers, staff, and students’ fervour and passion allowed the institution to advance in the field of higher education. The University’s academic adventure began with the Centre for Development Studies (within the School of Social Sciences & Policy), and in the academic year 2009–10 at the BIT campus, a (two) 2-year Master of Arts in Development Studies programme was introduced.
