How is CUET (Under Graduate)-going to helpful for a student?

Common University Entrance Test CUET (UG) – Will be helpful for a student in the following ways:-
Earlier, students used to get tensed to get more than 95% marks in class XII board exam to get admission in the university of their choice. With the introduction of CUET (UG), the stress of securing a lot of marks in the one and only board exam is reduced on them.

The marks awarded by different boards vary widely due to the typology of questions and the scoring pattern. These things will now be standardized under CUET (UG) 2024.

The pattern of question paper in CUET (UG) will be of objective type consisting of multiple choice questions and hence evaluation will be objective. CUET (UG) will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode where result processing will be done through technology without any human intervention.

CUET (UG) will be based on Class XII syllabus and hence Class XII candidates need not prepare separately for it.

In CUET (UG), students have a wide range of options-viz. 27 subjects to choose from, 33 languages and a general exam. They can choose the subject/language/general examination of their choice as per the requirements of the University where admission is sought. Common University Entrance Test CUET (UG) – will provide a common platform and equal opportunities across the country, especially to students coming from rural and urban areas, including candidates from three national boards CBSE, AICSE and NIOS.

I secured 99% marks in Class XII but did not get admission in the desired university.?

In the past, candidates complained that though they secured 99% marks in class XII, they could not get admission in the universities of their choice. This was basically because of the different typology and scoring pattern of questions in different boards of the country.

With the advent of CUET (UG), these things will now become standardized.

The question paper pattern in CUET (UG) will be of objective type consisting of multiple choice questions and hence evaluation will be objective. Thus, the content of evaluation of descriptive type papers in the traditional Class XII examinations of various boards will not hinder the candidates in getting admission in the university of their choice.

How will I prepare for both CUET (UG) and board exams?

The syllabus for the subject/domain test of CUET (UG) will be based on Class XII so that there is no pressure on the candidates to prepare for both the exams.

The effort required to perform well in CUET (UG) will also help the candidates to prepare well for their board exams. This will strengthen their studies.

How does CUET (UG) – provide me more flexibility and options to choose from?

In CUET (UG) – a candidate can appear for a maximum of 09 tests in the following manner:
02 Languages taken together from Section IA and Section IB, Maximum 06 Domain Subjects from Section II and General Test from Section III.
either
